Église Saint-Roch

Église Saint Roch

This late Baroque church is filled with art,
stunning architecture, a storied past, and
three magnificent organs.

The Marquis de Sade was married (!) here in 1763,
and Yves Saint Laurent's funeral brought over 1,000 people
 to this church in 2008.

My friend Peter Olsen (Peter's Paris blog) provided
many interesting photos and facts which you can find here.

The doors are really beautiful painted of this blue. In spite of clock has roman numbers, it looks very modern. It´s good to know they will open that doors for concerts on October 10, 11 and 13. Thank you Genie. Happy Sunday!

The doors really impress me.

I hope they oil the hinges regularly Genie. These magnificent doors must be heavy.

Ah, how I wish that I was once again in the apartment across the narrow rue Saint Roch, and could open the large windows for the concerts again!
